Starts with our mindset At the end of 2016, I decided to make a change. I wanted to live a healthy lifestyle. I wanted to feel good, to be present, and to love myself again. I wanted to take control back. The years since have been a journey towards creating balance in my life; mind, body, soul. To experience change in your life, you first have to start inward. The core of a self love practice is your mindset.

Finding balance

Being FIT starts with the believing in yourself and following through on the commitment to prioritize yourself daily. It starts with learning how to be present, to listen to your body, and to extend grace to yourself. The next step is balanced eating. A weekly meal prep plan allows you to fuel your body and reduce stress simultaneously. Balance isn’t a diet. Diets are short term fixes. Balanced eating is about creating a sustainable process that serves you.

Effort every day leads to transformation

Exercise is not a punishment for eating!!! It’s truly a gift. When I first started practicing yoga, I remember lifting my feet up while lying on my back was a difficult task. But, I continued to try… that effort over time allowed me to gain more strength, confidence, and to believe in myself. Choosing any type of movement that serves you best is a starting point. Yoga is a great option to support the mind, body, soul alignment.

It’s not about the pose

Connecting the mind, body, and breath helps us to turn inward. Through this process, we become aware. This awareness allows us to become present. In the present we can learn things like acceptance, forgiveness, and reconciliation. Yoga has taught me how to stop measuring my progress against others, and to start accepting what I need and what I am capable of.

With each step you take, continue to increase your faith and have courage to try new things. Be open to all possibilities!
