Joy to the world!

Today is Chrismas day and I’m feeling so many different emotions as 2017 is quickly closing out.  Most importantly I’m thankful for the journey God has led me on in this year of transformation.  This time last year, I had made up my mind that I wanted to be free, and live the purpose God has promised by living according to His will.  That step set me on a course that would allow me to literally blow my own mind!

Life is meant to be full.   I’m a planner, but I can honestly say that I’m living more in the present than ever before.  Checking in frequently on how I am feeling, emotionally, physically, and making the adjustment to keep living a healthy lifestyle… to be FIT!  Looking for God’s blessings all around. …I enjoy good food more than ever before, but I’m continuing to understand the importance of balance.  Fuel, Joy… all important.

It’s the holidays and there have been so many good foods.  But, each morning I’ve woke up and did something to move.  I’ve made sure to drink lots of water and get lots of rest.  I’ve not overeaten.  I’ve tried to balance sweets and rich foods, with veggies, and other foods that fuel my body.  We all have free will, and often the reasons we make choices that don’t serve our body is because we don’t take the time to assess what the emotional or stress point that is triggering our actions.  I fully accept that no one can take my power unless I give it and no one can influence my choices except me.

Everything we need to know about living a healthy lifestyle is written in the bible.  God’s word gives us direction on how to praise Him, manage our time, love ourselves and others, work ethic, faith, persevere when things get challenging, etc.  He’s given us everything to be successful in life.  We just have to be open to receive it.  My inspiration comes from Him, and I have a spirit of expectancy that God will continue to allow me to witness miracles in my life that I can’t even begin to imagine.

I’ve lost over 75lbs…, but have gained so much more in life.  The weight I’ve shed is symbolic of the changes I’ve made to live according to His purpose.

Today when I read about the birth of Jesus, I connected with a particular aspect for this post…

Luke 2:13-20 (NKJV) And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.

…Many years ago as the angel spoke of the good news… the shepherds “came with haste”… meaning they didn’t waste any time, they didn’t wait until the weekend, or tomorrow, or the new year, or after some other event… they went immediately!

A year ago, I made the commitment during the most challenging time of year when perceived temptation is all around… I didn’t wait until the new year, I started changing the moment I made up my mind… and even in those times, I was able to see progress… and ultimately over the year a total shift.  I’m so thankful for the past year, and I’m especially thankful this Christmas for the greatest gift of all, Jesus.

He’s the reason for the season!

Merry Christmas!  Many blessing to you and yours 🙂

My life is busy! It takes a plan, and surrounding yourself with good people to make it all work. I'm constantly searching for new ways to have a healthy balance for myself, and my family. My daily life practice includes meal prep, moving, and finding joy in all that I do.
